Julio Urías, the talented pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, found himself in legal trouble on Sunday night. According to his Los Angeles County Jail booking sheet, Urías was arrested for a suspected felony offense.

Urías was subsequently released on Monday morning after posting a $50,000 bond. The news of his arrest quickly circulated, with TMZ reporting that Urías had been charged with felony domestic violence. ESPN also cited an unnamed source as the basis for their report.

The Dodgers wasted no time responding to the situation, releasing an official statement, “We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías. While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.

The arrest of the skilled left-handed pitcher has sparked interest and discussion not only in the baseball world but also beyond. Fans and analysts will expect additional information on the accusations. While legal proceedings are ongoing, the impact of this event on the player’s future and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ season remains uncertain.

Will Urias play in the season follow-up?

According to a source familiar with the matter, The Times has learned that Major League Baseball is aware of Urias’s recent arrest and plans to launch an investigation. The booking records show that Urias, an accomplished 27-year-old left-hander from Mexico, will appear in court on September 27th.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Urias has faced allegations of misdemeanor domestic battery. In 2019, witnesses observed him push a woman to the ground in a parking lot near Beverly Center, resulting in a 20-game suspension from MLB’s domestic violence policy.

It is suspected that Sunday’s incident occurred during the LAFC versus Inter Miami soccer game at BMO Stadium, where Urias was among the celebrity guests announced by LAFC. Even though he was scheduled to pitch for the Dodgers on Thursday in Miami, the league would likely place him on administrative leave before then, similar to the approach taken when allegations of sexual assault were reported against former Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer.

If Urias is suspended, he would be the first player to receive a second suspension under MLB’s domestic violence policy, created in 2015. Urias’ contract with the Dodgers will expire this winter, making him a free agent.
