John Wall Linked To 2 NBA Teams Amid Possible Return
John Wall is one of the most iNFLuential players of his generation, but he hasn’t played in a single NBA Game since the 2022-23 season.
That year he suited up for 34 games as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, before they ultimately dealt him to the Houston Rockets at the Trade Deadline.
Houston promptly waived him days later, and he hasn’t been seen since.
This week a video emerged of Wall absolutely schooling players during a summer Game:

Naturally, this led to speculation about a possible return to the league. If Wall does in fact opt to return to the NBA, two teams have emerged as the frontrunners for his services.
The first is the Los Angeles Lakers. L.A. had an objectively awful offseason where the only player of note they added was Bronny James. It is genuinely believed that he likely won’t push them into title contention, though. His Summer League grades speak for themselves.
Wall could immediately slide in as an offensive spark plug off the bench that could give Los Angeles some valuable minutes. Yes, he isn’t a great defender. And yes, he isn’t a starter-level player at this juncture in his career. But off the bench, he could offer value.
Plus, Wall has always wanted to play for the Lakers.
If not the Lakers, the Miami Heat also make sense. Erik Spoelstra knows how to maximize over-the-hill veterans – as he showed with Kevin Love. Wal could provide some valuable minutes as a reserve, all while having a lot of his deficiencies covered up.
Will Wall find his way back into the league for the 2024-25 NBA season? Time will tell.
