Jazz’s Kyle Filipowski Accused Of Being Cousins With Girlfriend Caitlin Hutchison

Utah Jazz rookie Kyle Filipowski made headlines this past week when he dropped unexpectedly low in the 2024 NBA Draft.

After a stellar career at Duke, Filipowski was widely regarded as a consensus first-round pick by most observers. Unfortunately, the first round came and went on Wednesday with Filipowski’s name not getting called.

Although he eventually got drafted by the Jazz on Thursday evening in the second round, Filipowski’s dip has been the subject of much scrutiny. It has been arguably the second biggest story of the draft after Reed Sheppard’s girlfriend’s wild photos leaking out.

A possible explanation for Filipowski’s troubles emerged when various members of his family came forward with troubling allegations about his girlfriend, Caitlin Hutchison.

Hutchison, who some maintain is 28 years old, is being accused of grooming the 20-year-old Filipowski. In addition to that, some on social media seem to believe that the pair may be cousins:

Now, to be clear – that post doesn’t confirm or deny one way or another that Filipowski and Hutchison are cousins. All it confirms is that they have known each other for a long time.

After all, that post could just as easily mean that Filipowski had spent the day with his cousins and Hutchison was simply there.

Nevertheless, it is never a good sign when your name is being attached to stuff like this.

The Jazz got themselves a very talented rookie, but also quite the PR headache on their hands.

Will Filipowski and Hutchison come forward and address their relationship one way or another at some point in the near future? Time will tell.
