Jamie Vardy is widely regarded as one of the greatest rags-to-riches stories in Football, culminating in winning the 2016 Premier League title with Leicester City.

But at the age of 37, the English striker’s career is slowly beginning to wind down, with the Leicester City talisman currently sidelined after a knock he suffered against Villarreal on July 20th in a 2-1 win.

Vardy’s injury setback will, however, play a big part in the story of Celtic’s summer transfer window, with the Daily Record reporting that the Foxes aren’t willing to sanction a loan deal for Irish striker Tom Cannon until Vardy returns from injury, with Patson Daka being the only currently fit number nine.

Adam Idah’s future at Norwich Cityy is currently far from certain, with the Canaries themselves likely to look to offload Idah if they can sign Cannon on loan this summer.

With two other strikers, Ashley Barnes and Josh Sargent, already on the books, Brendan Rodgers’ former striker Vardy could lead a domino effect in the transfer market.

However, to add yet another twist to the Adam Idah transfer to Celtic this summer, the Daily Record also reports that Norwich will face comPetition from West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United for Cannon’s signature.

The permanent signing of Idah from Norwich this summer has proven more difficult than anticipated, with the English Championship side reportedly having already rejected a bid in the range of £4 million from the Hoops.

New boss Johannes Hoff Thorup has also been said to be more open to keeping Idah at the club, unlike former head coach David Wagner, who was willing to loan the Irish striker to Celtic in January for the remainder of last season.
