Is Brooks Koepka playing at the 2024 Masters Tournament?

The eyes of the golfing world will be fixed on Augusta National Golf Club next week, eagerly following all the action from the 2024 Masters Tournament.

The finest players from around the world will gather for four days of fierce comPetition, 90 years on from the very first edition. The Masters is one of four Majors and always draws the biggest names in the sport, but that has been complicated in recent years by the introduction of the LIV Golf tour.

The Saudi Arabia-backed tour does not grant its winners Official World Golf Ranking points, meaning that it can be difficult for its players to gain entry to other competitions. This year there are 13 LIV Golf players who will compete at Augusta; Brooks Koepka is one of those who will be playing.

Brooke Koepka keen to continue comeback

Koepka enjoyed an incredible spell of success on the PGA Tour, claiming the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking and remaining there for 47 weeks. He was the US Open in 2017 and 2018 and lead the PGA Tour at the same time.

However his career stalled after scaling those heights and he struggled for a period, finally returning to form for the 2023 Masters. He finish tied-second at last year’s competition but went on to win the PGA Championship the following month.

After returning to form Koepka insisted that he was always confident in his abilities: “I mean, I already knew that [I was back]... I think it was more, I mean, I kept telling everybody, but nobody believed me. I think it was more validation for everybody else.”

Koepka has recorded two second-place finishes at Augusta but is yet to take home the coveted green jacket. The current favourite to win that honour is Scottie Scheffler, who has held the No. 1 spot in the world rankings for more than 80 weeks. Schleffler won the 2022 Master Tournament and will be eager to regain his crown (jacket) this year.
