Horse Racing picks for Parx race track on Wednesday, October 18

12:40 pm ET Parx (Race 1) – Jackie’s Pride 2/1 (2-star play)

The gelding showed good form at a higher level when attempting to make all prior to being beaten a length over six furlongs in a $15,000 claiming contest at Woodbine in December. The five-year-old was claimed by current connections following that effort and while he has failed to score in five starts this year he has delivered some promising efforts. The drop in grade here is in his favour and he looks capable of doubling his career tally. 

2:55 pm ET Parx (Race 6) – Divine Miracle 2/1 (2-star play)

The six-year-old showed good form for the Jamie Ness barn in 2022 and he is back with them following runs for Michael L Buskey and Kathleen A Demasi this year. The most recent of those efforts saw the son of Distorted Humor register an eight-and-a-quarter-length fifth in a $25,000 claiming event over a mile at this track last month. The pick tackles an easier contest here and can help Jamie Ness improve on his 25% strike-rate (120/475) at this meeting. 

4:53 pm ET Parx (Race 10) – Ebben 2/1 (2-star play)

The veteran won at a higher level when delivering an impressive six length victory in a $40,000 claiming contest over seven furlongs at this circuit in early July. The son of Trappe Shot followed that up with a runner-up finish in a starter optional claimer over the same course and distance and he is taken to put a below par sixth over half-a-furlong shorter behind him by taking this event uwith regular pilot Abner Adorno booked to ride.
