Horse Racing picks for Parx race track on Monday, October 30: Scintillating Star can shine

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Parx race track.

12:40 pm ET Parx (Race 1) – Take It To The Max 8/5 (2-star play)

This daughter of Uptowncharlybrown broke her maiden when contesting a $10,000 maiden claimer over 6 furlongs at Parx in June. The 3-year-old went on to register her first victory against previous winners when scoring by 3 lengths in a $7,500 claiming contest over 6.5 furlongs there earlier this month. 

The pick tackles a similar contest today with regular pilot Anthony Y Nunez again in the saddle and with a good gate, 3 off the rail, she looks capable of following up. 

3:22 pm ET Parx (Race 7) – Scintillating Star 3/1 (2-star play)

This 4-year-old filly joined the Richard Vega barn having been claimed following an impressive 5.5-length victory in a $12,500 claiming event over 6 furlongs at Parx in February.

The Mineshaft filly registered her first victory in 4 starts for the stable when making all the running to deliver a 1.25-length success in a similar contest last month. The pick arrives after a pair of 3-furlong works and looks up to recording her fourth career success.  

4:26 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Baziga C 3/1 (2-star play)

This filly placed in a Listed stakes contest when racing over 7 furlongs at Laurel on her final start of 2022. The selection was beaten 3.5 lengths on that occasion and joined the Brittany T Russell barn prior to making her 2023 debut last month.

That effort saw the daughter of Exaggerator finish runner-up in a 6-furlong allowance optional claimer at Pimlico, and with the extra distance today being no issue, she is taken to go one better.
