1:32 pm Keeneland (Race 2) – My Good Fortune 5/2 (2-star play)

The daughter of Tonalist has shown good form in four starts so far in 2023 including when registering her first victory of the year in coming from off the pace to win by a neck in $30,000 claiming contest over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Churchill Downs at the end of last month. Changed trainer following that effort and with Corey Lanerie up looks up to helping new handler Chris A Hartman improve on his 27% strike-rate (3/11) at this meeting.  

2:36 pm Keeneland (Race 4) – Donegal Mischief 5/2 (2-star play)

The three-year-old was a $90,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2021 and while he failed to make the track at two he made the perfect start to his racing career when registering a victory in a five furlong maiden special weight on turf at Evangeline Downs at the end of July. The gelding steps up half-a-furlong in distance here and making his first start for Brad Cox looks capable of maintaining his unbeaten record. 

3:40 pm Keeneland (Race 6) – Smooth Waves 8/5 (2-star play)

Michael J Maker’s filly showed ability when finishing fifth in each of her first three starts in maiden special weight contests on the New York circuit. Those efforts including a three-and-a-half-length defeat on a good track at Saratoga in August. The daughter of English Channel broke her maiden by nine-and-a-quarter-lengths at Kentucky Downs on her penultimate start and is taken to register a victory here following a respectable sixth in the Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes here earlier this month.
