Here is the first look at LeBron James & Bronny James for the Los Angeles Lakers
As we know, the father-son duo is set to make history this coming campaign when they turn out for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024-25 NBA season. With that said, there are still questions as to how exactly the pair will work together. On the other hand, we can’t wait.
A Glimpse at LeBron & Bronny
From his close shave following a cardiac arrest to his roller coaster draft process which was fueled by super-agent Rich Paul, Bronny James’ journey to the NBA has been eventful, to say the least. That is of course before we even touch on the fervor that took place once it was established that he would be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers, the team where his father and franchise icon LeBron James plays.
What came next were talking heads and deep dives into just how the two would function on the court. Indeed, it was something that new Lakers coach JJ Redick addressed when he appeared to reveal that fans may get to see Bronny and his father playing together sooner than they think, albeit after a possible stint with the team’s G-League affiliate.
Nonetheless, here we are inching ever closer to that moment when NBA fans will see the first-ever father-son duo playing simultaneously and on the very same team. Truthfully, it will be interesting to see how the younger James adapts to the league and the spotlight. As one can imagine, he will be in it constantly with comparisons to his father inevitably being made every time he takes the court. Regardless, it is what it is and to that end, we can only wait and watch.
Yet, at the least, we can take a glance at what the two will look like when the season tips off. During the team’s media day on Monday, the Lakers’ prized rookie stood wearing the No. 9 jersey, as his famous father stood beside him in his No. 23. It’s worth noting that this will be LeBron’s 22nd season in the league - he will celebrate his 40th birthday in December. Do recall, that over the last few years, he has repeatedly stated that his intention was to play with his oldest son. With that objective now set to be achieved, one has to wonder how long the NBA’s All-time scoring leader will continue. Whatever the case, we can only focus on the coming season which begins for the Lakers on October 22nd with a Game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
