Fans laud Diljit Dosanjh for his 'Chamkila' performance

Amar Singh Chamkila, the biographical film focusing on the life of the renowned musician by the same name, seems to have won hearts. Directed, produced, and co-written by Imtiaz Ali, the film features Diljit Dosanjh portraying the titular character, while Parineeti Chopra takes on the role of his wife, Amarjot. 

As more and more Entertainment enthusiasts consume the offering, many have taken to social media to praise Dosanjh for his spellbinding portrayal of the protagonist. Fans are flooding X with praises for the singer-turned-actor, and it is clear that the best part of the film, for many, was Dosanjh. 

One X user claimed that the film is "what cinema should be all about." Terming the offering "aspirational and beautiful," this moved user added, "The film makes you cry and laugh all at the same time. Kudos to the entire team on this gem." The user did not hesitate to add a special shoutout for Dosanjh, who was "a delight to watch."

One X user, after having watched the film, took to X to tag Dosanjh and say, "Your eyes - they’re something. The conviction they had throughout." The bowled-over fan continued, "Kudos to the entire team. Acting, writing, music, editing, production—nothing missed a beat. The only complaint: I wish this were a theatre release." Another user of the site formerly known as Twitter asked Dosanjh to "take a bow" after a compelling performance.

Another X user listed Dosanjh's name amongst the all-time greats, such as Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. "Will be remembered always," they added. One reviewer called it Dosanjh's "best performance," further layering praises on other aspects of the narrative and its making. Yet another X user called the film "refreshing." Tagging Dosanjh, the user said that the portrayal had made the character "Amar," - a play on the name, given that it means immortal. One more X user called the performance "outstanding." 

The praise did not stop there. One X user claimed, "Diljit Dosanjh is class, a rarity today who can act and sing very well. Incredible combination that was last there in the age of Kishore Kumar. Chamkila is probably his best to date, with Imtiaz back to his form. Casting Diljit was an inspired choice for a top movie." Another said Dosanjh "stole the show with his solid screen presence." Yet another referred to the film as having created "magic."

One user of the microblogging site said, "Diljit Dosanjh is a national treasure to be protected at all costs. What a talent." Another asserted, "Imtiaz Ali delivered another life-altering experience with Diljit Dosanjh literally shining as Chamkila," calling it a "great watch." Radio host and YouTuber Siddharth Kannan said, "Diljit Dosanjh said once that acting isn't his forte. And I would want to tell him that if it isn't his forte, then there are no good actors. The brightest star shone and how in Chamkila. A must-watch for everybody who loves good cinema."

All in all, the widely loved singer has bowled over audiences with his stunning, engaging, and emotionally profound portrayal of Amar Singh Chamkila. As the multihyphenate continues to make a name for himself, calling the humble, relatable star a talent threat to watch out for would not be an understatement.
