You are not alone in your interest in Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, as Arsenal and Manchester United are both contemplating a bid for the talented 23-year-old. Guehi, who has been sidelined since February due to a knee injury, is still highly regarded in the Football world, with the potential to feature in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

With nine senior England caps to his name, Guehi’s performances for both Crystal Palace and the Three Lions have attracted the attention of bigger clubs. The fact that he still has two years remaining on his contract makes him an attractive prospect for potential suitors, with Palace likely to consider cashing in on him this summer.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Guehi, but they are not the only ones in the race. Former club Chelsea and Liverpool are also reportedly interested in securing the services of the talented defender. However, according to The Telegraph, Arsenal have now entered the fray, adding more comPetition to the already intense battle for Guehi’s signature.

The report suggests that Guehi could coMMAnd a hefty fee of ‘more than £55m’, with Chelsea holding the option to match any offers for him as part of the deal that saw him make the switch from Stamford Bridge to Selhurst Park in 2021. This means that a potential bidding war could ensue between the interested clubs.

Despite Guehi’s recent injury setback, there is optimism surrounding his recovery. Crystal Palace manager Olver Glasner indicated that the young centre-back could return to full training soon and even be in contention to feature in the squad for the upcoming clash against Manchester United on 6 May.

Glasner stated, ‘He did parts of the sessions this week, but our sessions are 35 minutes. When we play Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday, it is just recovery sessions. We expect him (fully) back with the team next week and then let’s see how he feels. We don’t want to risk anything but it can be that he is in the squad against Man United. Let’s see. We want him to play minutes in this season but always the health of the player is most important. We never risk anything.’

As the coMMAxLYo3cjWnifpxlVCition heats up for Marc Guehi’s signature, it remains to be seen which club will come out on top in the pursuit of the promising defender.
