Fall season series: Golden State losing, Miami wining!
The Golden State Warriors played their first game without Draymond Green, but unfortunately, they suffered their fifth straight loss despite having won as many games since the start of the season. In the game, Isaiah Joe had an outstanding performance, scoring 23 points and making seven 3-pointers in seven attempts. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also played well, scoring one more point to help his team win, scoring 128-109 at the Chase Center.
Moreover, Josh Giddey scored 19 points, and Chet Holmgren, who was very helpful, scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. This was his fourth double-double since the beginning of his career.
The Thunder won their fifth Game in the last six, which was an important victory as they ended their losing streak against the Warriors, which had lasted 11 Games.
Green was fined for starting a fight with the Minnesota Timberwolves during the Game. Additionally, coach Steve Kerr managed without Stephen Curry or Gary Payton II after the middle of the second quarter due to his ankle injury.
Amid the absence of the team’s top scorer, Jonathan Kuminga was the best player for the Warriors, scoring 21 points. However, Klay Thompson had a rough night, only scoring five points and making one out of ten shots from the field.
Both teams are scheduled to play again at the same venue on Saturday night.
Miami is on the roll
In the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat - last year’s vice-champions - are slowly catching up with their rivals. After winning only one of their first five matches of the season, the team has achieved their seventh consecutive victory, making it the current hottest streak in the league.
Their latest win was against the Brooklyn Nets, with Jimmy Butler scoring 18 of his 36 points in the third quarter, leading the team to a 122-115 victory. Duncan Robinson followed with 26 points, and Bem Adebayo scored 20, enough for the first seven-Game winning streak since the 2017/18 season.
Miami coach Erik Spoelstra expressed satisfaction with the team’s growing organization, comfort, and confidence.
The Brooklyn Nets, who were on a five-game winning streak before Miami, had Mikal Bridges and Lonnie Walker IV each score 23 points, but it was not enough to stop the Heat from continuing their impressive streak.
