Expensive burger in Townsville sparks social media debate
A picture of an $18 “scabby and disgusting” burger purchased at an Australian sporting event has gone viral, sparking heated debate online.
A motorSports fan who attended the NTI Townsville 500 V8 Supercars race at the weekend posted the photo in a Facebook Townsville community page.
“This folks is an $18 burger at the V8s,” the person wrote.

“Thought the crowds were down on previous years, this carry on could perhaps answer a few of the organiser’s questions.”
The photo shows a man holding an unappealing burger, with little filling and mediocre-looking buns.
