Erik ten Hag 'hopeful' of Man Utd triple injury boost for Tottenham clash
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed Christian Eriksen, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire could be available to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Red Devils host Spurs in a crucial Game in both sides' quest to qualify for Europe next season. Ange Postecoglou chalked up his first win as Tottenham boss in the reverse fixture back in August.
Since then, United's season has been rocked by a series of injury crises, with many of their key players spending time on the sidelines so far this term.
Following United's 2-0 win away at Wigan Athletic in round three of the FA Cup, Ten Hag admitted a trio of players who sat out the trip to the DW Stadium could return at the weekend, though £60m summer signing Mason Mount is not one of them.
"Some players, it is hopeful that they can be back for the weekend. Christian Eriksen, potentially Luke Shaw. Harry maybe. Mason, he needs some days or a week more," Ten Hag said.
Eriksen was an unexpected absentee for Monday's trip to Wigan following a bout of illness, which also kept Amad Diallo out of the matchday squad. Antony was additionally omitted from the Travelling party after picking up an injury.
Tottenham are set to have Timo Werner available to take on United once his loan move from RB Leipzig is finalised. 90min revealed last week the Red Devils had made an enquiry over Werner in recent weeks but chose not to follow up on their interest.
Ten Hag was also asked about the possibility of United signing any players on loan, to which he replied: "We consider everything, the best interest of the player and for us, our team. We will see how it progresses during the window."
