Having stated that, how has Brown performed from a statistical perspective this season? Let’s review Mitchell’s relevant key player Game data from the 2024 CFL regular season to answer that question.

In the three games that quarterback Dru Brown has played for the Ottawa Redblacks this season, Brown is averaging a respectable 265.1 passing yards and 1 passing touchdown a game.

More recently, in the Ottawa Redblacks 24-22 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week, Ottawa quarterback Dru Brown played rather well. Let me be more specific. Dru Brown accumulated a robust 269 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and 16 rushing yards in the Ottawa Redblacks win over the Tiger-Cats.

Additionally, I like Dru Brown’s matchup in this Game. Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dru Brown draws a Winnipeg Blue Bombers defense that has had issues defending the quarterback position in the 2024 CFL regular season. Upon the completion of four Games played this season, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are ranked a rather low sixth in total passing yards allowed (370.8) a Game to the quarterback position.

In my opinion, Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dru Brown is the best fantasy value of any player on this slate. Brown arrives on this slate at the low cost of only $8,500.

It’s fair to say that Ottawa Redblacks wide receiver Judtin Hardy has been targeted by Ottawa quarterback Justin Hardy early and often in the 2024 CFL campaign. In three games played for the Redblacks this season, Ottawa quarterback Dru Brown has targeted Justin Hardy 27 times. In those 27 targets, Hardy accumulated 19 receptions, 328 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.

I noted earlier in this article that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been less than stellar defending the pass in 2024. Having stated that, I think locking up Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dru Brown and wide receiver Justin Hardy as flex plays is the smart way to attack this one Game CFL slate.
