4 Liverpool players who stood out vs. Bologna – with “superb” Salah and Gravenberch
Mohamed Salah got a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Bologna, standing out as the Reds’ best player at Anfield.
Arne Slot‘s side hosted the Serie A outfit on Wednesday night, with victory expected for the hosts.
Alexis Mac Allister converted Salah’s cross to give Liverpool an early lead, before the Egyptian curled home superbly in the second half.
Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool Echo, GOAL, FotMob and This Is Anfield’s readers.
It was a night where four players were vying for the highest average rating, but Salah (7.9) narrowly came out on top.
The 32-year-old clipped a delicious cross into the box that Mac Allister converted, while his goal was a trademark left-footed finish.
The Echo‘s Ian Doyle described Salah’s assist as superb, while Mark Doyle of GOAL remarked that Salah is a “class act.”
It’s now six goals and five assists for the season for the Egyptian superstar, who looks as good as ever.
Ryan Gravenberch (7.8) is having an outstanding season and he was close to being Man of the Match yet again.
It was “another very positive showing”, according to TIA’s Mark Delgado, adding that there were “some brilliant turns and powerful runs” on show.
In joint-third place were Mac Allister (7.7) and Dominik Szoboszlai (7.7), highlighting how impressive Liverpool’s midfield was at Anfield.
Ian Doyle praised Szoboszlai for “ferociously leading the press and involved in many of Liverpool’s attacks”, as he silenced some of his harsh doubters.
Darwin Nunez (5.8) blew an opportunity to shine in attack, however, getting the lowest score and even being given a four-out-of-10 rating by Mark Doyle.
Liverpool’s next Game comes at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm BST).
