The German side, which played their Bundesliga match on Friday, and many Celtic fans tuned in to watch their midweek opposition.

They managed a comeback victory against Bochum 4-2 after initially falling behind by two goals, a week following a heavy 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart.

There were a few glaring weaknesses in the Dortmund side, which seemed wide open at the back and scared on the ball at times. But their physical striker in Guirassy looks like he could cause some problems for the Hoops, especially in the air. That’s three goals in three Games for the Guinean forward.

Two important Dortmund players are facing fitness issues. Jamie Gittens had to leave Friday’s Game early. Gittens appeared to suffer a knee injury, pulling up without contact, and his condition will need to be monitored closely as the match against Celtic approaches. He has been great for Dortmund this season, the fast and tricky winger bagged two goals in their opening Champions League clash against Club Brugge.

Additionally, Marcel Sabitzer was unavailable to play in the Game on Friday night, adding to Dortmund’s concerns on the wing.

On Gittens, Sebastian Kehl said: “It shouldn’t be anything serious. So we hope that everyone will be available on Tuesday. Because we’ll need them.”

Turning his attention to Sabitzer, he told Ruhr 24, “Marcel is injured and unfortunately hasn’t been able to train for the last one or two days. We still hope that he’ll be back in shape on Tuesday.”

Celtic will need to be at their absolute best to stand a chance of securing a favourable result in Germany.
