Becky and John’s journey towards matrimony took an unexpected turn when fate introduced them to a litter of puppies in need. It all began with a fortuitous Facebook post from a local animal rescue organization, The Little Guild, seeking a temporary foster home for a litter of puppies found right in their neighborhood.

With their shared passion for nurturing Animals, Becky and John couldn’t resist the opportunity to care for these vulnerable puppies. Their experience in raising piglets and cows made them well-equipped for the task at hand.

Their journey as foster parents began with two of the newborn puppies from the litter, affectionately named Penny and Patch. Since the puppies were too young to be left alone, they became constant companions, even accompanying the couple on a day trip to Cabela’s as they prep ared for their upcoming honeymoon. The puppies were safely tucked inside a diaper bag in the shopping cart and even enjoyed bottles of milk during the car ride.

Before long, their foster family expanded to include three more puppies from the same litter: Roley, Lucky, and Freckles. Transitioning the puppies from milk to solid food was an adventure in itself, requiring multiple feedings throughout the day and frequent baths. As Becky fondly recalls, “It was absolute chaos.”

When it came time to plan their wedding, Becky and John made a heartwarming and unconventional decision. They chose to incorporate the rescue puppies into their special day, replacing traditional bouquets with an adorable pack of rescue puppies.

Following their enchanting wedding celebration, each of the puppies found loving forever homes through a thorough screening process that included applications, references, and veterinarian endorsements to ensure the perfect match.

Patch, now known as Mo, found his forever home with John’s aunt, allowing Becky and John to continue visiting him regularly. Becky firmly believes that the endless cuddles the puppies received during their fostering days played a pivotal role in shaping them into the wonderful and affectionate dogs they had become.

Instead, their mother had been rescued from a pound, and due to her own traumatic past experiences, she had rejected her offspring.
