DJ’s shocking X-ray of spinal issue sparks heavy costume concerns
Canadian DJ and electronic music producer Joel Zimmerman, famously known as Deadmau5, has shared an x-ray of his spinal cord.
He shared the suspected cause of his injury on social media, after alluding it was caused by the prolonged use of his iconic mouse costume.
‘”Wear a mouse head,’ they said. ‘It’ll be fun!’ They said,” Deadmau5 wrote on Thursday.

Fans were quick to voice their support and sympathy for Zimmerman.
“Thank you for torturing yourself and body for your music and craft. Love what you do,” one person wrote.
“We appreciate your sacrifice,” another wrote.
“Take care of your health and take retire the helmet. We all love you regardless of what you are wearing, your music is legendary,” another wrote.
Zimmerman took to social media again on Friday to dispel rumours that mouse helmet was definitively the cause of the spinal injury, and said it was more likely related to poor posture as a desk jockey, rather than as a disk jockey.
“My neck is messed up from probably sleeping like an idiot, or slouching behind a computer,” Zimmerman wrote.
“I doubt wearing a mouse head has much to do with it. I just posted a lolsy quote with it. My neck is fine-ish, I just need to straighten my sh*t up. It’s all good. Just sore. RELAX! we good.
“Please note that in my previous photo, those are not compound fractures. It is actually the design of my jacket.”
He assured fans he would still be performing in Los Angeles at on Saturday.
