In a heartfelt show of solidarity, US supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid have announced a donation of $1 million to support Palestinian relief efforts, BBC reported. The funds are designated for four humanitarian organisations focusing on aiding children and families affected by the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The Hadid sisters' donation will be equally distributed among Heal Palestine, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, World Central Kitchen, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. These organisations are crucial in providing food, medical aid, psychological services, and support for displaced families amidst Israel’s relentless brutality in Gaza.

Bella and Gigi Hadid, daughters of Palestinian property tycoon Mohamed Anwar Hadid, have been outspoken advocates for the Palestinian cause. Their contributions aim to address the dire humanitarian situation exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. Bella, in a poignant Instagram post in May, expressed her heartbreak over the "devastating loss of the Palestinian people and the lack of empathy from government systems worldwide."

The sisters' commitment to the Palestinian people was further highlighted when Bella attended the Cannes Film Festival in a dress made from keffiyeh, a traditional Arabic cloth associated with Palestinian culture. She described it as "a beautiful way to represent the History, labour of love, resilience, and, most importantly, the art of historic Palestinian embroidery."

Since Israel launched attacks in Palestine on October 7, Gigi also voiced her sorrow, emphasising her deep empathy for the Palestinian struggle under occupation. She conveyed her hope for the future of Palestinians and stressed the need for mutual respect and understanding.

US President Joe Biden recently urged Hamas to accept an Israeli proposal that would potentially end the latter's Military aggression but the call for peace comes against the backdrop of severe casualties in Gaza. Since October 7, the fresh wave of violence by Israeli forces has claimed the lives of more than 36,000 people in Gaza as reported by the local Health authority.
