Offered only in precious metals, Rolex’s Day-Date model can certainly be considered the creme de la creme of the horological world, and this one sits near the very top of Tiger Woods’ most expensive luxury watches.

For this iteration, Woods’ selection veers into quiet luxury and minimalism, an understated beauty with whisper-quiet, and yet exceedingly notable quality. Featuring a white gold oyster case and president bracelet paired with a white dial with roman numeral indices, this spectacular timepiece is likewise priced at around USD 41,500.

This mesmerising timepiece features an intriguing ‘D-Blue’ dial that slowly gradates from brilliant blue to bottomless black, reflecting the vast unknown of the deep sea. In keeping with the theme, it also features chromalight hour markers and hands imbued with luminescent material that emits an enduring blue glow, making it suitable for dark conditions.

Further proving his dedication to Rolex, Tiger Woods also owns a second Deepsea Sea-Dweller, a pricey piece that is certainly one of the most expensive watches in his luxurious collection. Swapping out the iconic D-Blue dial for an intense black variation, the now discontinued Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller Ref. 116660 combines an Oystersteel case with a Cerachrom bezel insert in black ceramic and an oyster bracelet. While newer models of the Deepsea Sea-Dweller have since been released, Woods’ iconic version has accompanied him faithfully across the years, earning it a well-deserved spot in his lavish collection. The latest model of the Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller retails at USD 10,900.

A limited edition that has since been discontinued, Tiger Woods’ Rolex GMT-Master II Two Tone (Ref. 116713LN) marries 18k yellow gold with stainless steel in its oyster bracelet, resulting in an unapologetically sumptuous appearance. A two-toned case houses a glossy black dial and a rotating black bezel with gold accents, further accentuated by luminous gold indices and a matching luminous handset. The watch operates on Rolex’s Calibre 3186, an automatic movement that proffers 48 hours of power reserve time. While it is no longer in production, it can be found on the secondary market from around USD 14,571.

Rolex Datejust II

As the predecessor to the current Rolex Datejust 41, the Rolex Datejust II was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch that displayed the date at 3 o’clock on its dial. Rumoured to be the first of Tiger Woods’ many Rolex watches, the Datejust II in his luxury collection features a classic blue sunburst dial with roman numerals, a fluted bezel, and a stainless-steel oyster bracelet.

A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with Cyclops lens provides protection for the exquisitely simple timepiece, which exudes easy elegance. While the Ref. 116300 model has since been discontinued, it can be found on the secondary market from around USD 8,391, making it one of the most expensive luxury watches owned by Tiger Woods.

Rolex Submariner Date

As the pioneering wristwatch in diving, the Rolex Submariner launched in 1953 as the first of its kind, waterproof up to 100 metres (330 feet). Today, it is waterproof up to 300 metres (1,000 feet), incorporating key features like a unidirectional rotatable bezel and a glowing display. Large luminescent hour markers in simple shapes provide instant and reliable readings, reducing the risk of confusion and helping divers to keep track of the time in trying situations.

One of the most expensive watches in Tiger Woods’ luxury collection, the Rolex Submariner Date of his choice features an Oyster case with a black Cerachrom bezel insert in black ceramic, a black dial, and Chromalight display, which allows for improved visibility and reliability in the dark. The watch, which frequently accompanies Woods on golf sessions, runs on the Rolex Calibre 3235, with 70 hours of power reserve. The watch currently retails at about USD 10,250.

TAG Heuer Link Calibre S Chronograph

(Images: WATCH-ID)

Prior to his Rolex partnership, Tiger Woods was a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer, appearing in many of the brand’s print advertisements. For this reason, his extensive watch collection includes more than a few TAG Heuers, most notably an earlier iteration of the TAG Heuer Link Calibre S Chronograph (Ref. CJF7110.BA0592). While the now-discontinued model may not be the most expensive luxury watch in Tiger Woods’ immense collection, listings of up to USD 4,275 exist for the watch on secondary markets.

Composed of a brushed stainless-steel S-shaped link bracelet, a black dial, and a bezel with an engraved tachymeter scale, the watch operates on a quartz movement, incorporating complications like a chronograph, a perpetual calendar, date, and a tachymeter.

The current iteration of the TAG Heuer Link Chronograph is much improved, retailing at USD 5,100. An exclusive golf watch, the unique Swiss-made timepiece features the world’s first automatic chronograph movement, allowing it to measure time to within 1/10th of a second. A black sunbrushed dial and black azurage counters are housed within a steel case, while silver-toned indexes and the handset are imbued with White Super-LumiNova to enhance visibility. A stunning exhibition case back of sapphire and steel reveals TAG Heuer’s Calibre 17 Automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve.

TAG Heuer Kirium Formula 1

(Images: GOLFWRX)

While the entire TAG Heuer Kirium series has been discontinued as of 2004, Tiger Woods’ TAG Heuer Kirium F1 Chronograph (Ref. WL1113) will remain enshrined among his most expensive luxury watches. A stainless-steel case houses a horological hybrid with analog hands and a digital screen, blending the elements of both analog and digital timepieces. Powered by an ETA E20.321 quartz movement, the watch includes complications such as a chronograph, day, date, month, world time, and alarm.

Despite being outpaced by modern-day horological technologies, the TAG Heuer Kirium Formula 1 nonetheless boasts an achievement that few other watches can claim to share: It has adorned the wrist of Tiger Woods time and again in 2006, accompanying the golf legend as he received his many trophies of the decade. Today, the watch retails for between USD 700 to USD 831 on the secondary market.

TAG Heuer Golf

Another iconic TAG Heuer timepiece that has been discontinued, the TAG Heuer Golf (WAE1116.FT6004) marries a square case of brushed titanium and stainless steel with a black rubber strap for a sleek and sporty look. Housed within the case and its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the black dial emulates the texture of a golf ball, contrasting sharply against silver indices and a silver handset.

Powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement, the watch is lightweight and unobtrusive, ensuring optimum comfort without sacrificing style on the green. And, if the photographs are to be believed, the TAG Heuer Golf has certainly earned its place as one of Tiger Woods’ favourite, if not most expensive, watches. Prices differ across different secondary marketplaces; however, some listings have placed the watch at a price of USD 3,995.

TAG Heuer Link Calibre 16 Chronograph

While Tiger Woods would go on to become the face of TAG Heuer through several iterations of the brand’s Link watches, the Calibre 16 Chronograph (Ref. CJF2110.BA0576) of 2007 proved to be both recognisable and expensive, retailing on the secondary market for approximately USD 2,000 to USD 3,000.

Sophistication incarnate, this watch features a steel case with a narrower bezel, an elegant black dial with three subdials, and the classic TAG Heuer S-shaped link bracelet. Its complications include a chronograph function and a date, which is located beside 3 o’clock. Powered by the Calibre 16 automatic movement, the watch also features luminous hands and indices for better visibility.

Tudor Prince Date Chronograph ‘Tiger’ Edition

To celebrate Tiger Woods’ incredible Golf career and his ambassadorship, Tudor unveiled the Tudor Prince Date Chronograph ‘Tiger’ Edition (originally the Tudor Oysterdate chronograph) in 1997. Comprising a 40mm stainless steel case, drilled lugs, a tachymeter bezel and sapphire crystal grass, this limited-edition timepiece is a rare horological find amongst collectors.

It comes as no surprise, then, that this exquisite timepiece is of the most prized and expensive watches in Tiger Woods’ collection, with an estimated worth of about USD 4,000 to USD 6,000. Despite the availability of numerous different variations from colourful dials to straps in leather or steel, Woods’ modest selection speaks of simplicity and style, with a black leather strap, a steel body, a white dial with black subdials, and a red ‘Tiger’ situated just below 12 o’clock.
