The PGA Tour travels to South Carolina for the inaugural 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a Draftkings perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the Golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success at this week’s 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.

The 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic will be played at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,347 yards.

2024 Myrtle Beach Classic Draftkings Picks

Davis Thompson $10,500

The talented American has accumulated two top 21 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an 18th place result at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship in April.

Due to Davis Thompson posting a quality result at the Corales Puntacana Championship I decided to take a close look at the player statistics for the event to see how Thompson fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of comPetitive play at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship, in relation to the field, Davis Thompson ranked 15th in birdie or better percentage, 15th in GIR (greens in regulation), 12th in strokes gained tee to green, and 17th in total Draftkings points scored.

Justin Lower $9,200

Justin Lower has accumulated three consecutive top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Justin Lower ranks first in birdie or better percentage, 12th in GIR (greens in regulation), seventh in strokes gained putting, first in strokes gained on par fours, and fourth in proximity to the hole.

Alex Smalley $8,900

Alex Smalley arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at last week’s 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Alex Smalley ranks fifth in strokes gained on par fours, 16th in driving accuracy, 11th in strokes gained off the tee, first in GIR (greens in regulation), and seventh in birdie or better percentage.

In my opinion, Alex Smalley presents the best fantasy value on this slate at a Draftkings price of $8,900.

Troy Merritt $7,200

Last week, Troy Merritt fired a final round 67 at the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson en route to an eventual ninth place finish. I think Merritt has a chance to flourish in this week’s rather weak tournament field.

Patton Kizzire $7,100

Patton Kizzire has accumulated two top 24 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 23rd place result at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship three weeks ago.
