DeMar DeRozan Gets Brutally Honest About Joining Lakers
DeMar DeRozan has never made it a secret that he wanted to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.
A few years ago, before L.A.’s ill-fated dance with Russell Westbrook, the front office came very close to inking a deal with him. When that ultimately fell apart, both sides left the whole thing feeling really bad.
That said, over the past few months, rumors have circulated that there was a chance DeRozan would come home to Los Angeles next season.
This week, DeRozan addressed the rumors.
“I’ve been a Lakers fan since Day One,” he said.
Would @DeMar_DeRozan ever consider playing for the #Lakers?

“You can’t never say no about playing home, especially for playing for a storied team like the Lakers. So, time will tell. We’ll see where the cards fall. Until then, I’ll see what happens. I’m always going to be where I’m wanted. I know what IMMA do, so we’ll see how it plays out.”
That said, DeRozan also admitted that he felt like he didn’t quite finish the job throughout his short stint with the Chicago Bulls. As a result, he wouldn’t mind having the opportunity to win there as well.
“It’s definitely somewhere I’d like to return to,” DeRozan said of the Bulls.

“I think more so than anybody. When the job ain’t done with me, Lou, no matter how tough the situation may look, I’m one of those guys that tries to stick it through and try to make something out of nothing.”
DeRozan doesn’t have a ton of time left in the NBA, so he needs to pick his next few stops wisely.
Where will he ultimately be playing come the beginning of the 2024-25 NBA season? Time will tell.
