Cristiano Ronaldo starts YouTube channel, breaks record for fastest to one million subscribers
International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo started his own YouTube channel on Wednesday, and nearly instantly he has gained millions of subscribers. Ronaldo's channel, "UR Cristiano," features content of himself and his family.
"The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey," Ronaldo posted on Instagram.
Ronaldo's channel was an instant success, with one million subscribers earned within 90 minutes to break the YouTube record for the fastest channel to a million subscribers. Ronaldo's channel now has 22.8 million subscribers as of Thursday afternoon, easily surpassing comparable accounts such as Lionel Messi's, which has a mere 2.31 million subscribers in comparison.
The exceptionally fast growth of Ronaldo's channel has actually led to some monitoring its subscriber count alongside that of Mr. Beast, whose 331 million subscribers is the most on YouTube. A quick search of Cristiano Ronaldo's name yields several live videos of his subscriber count and Mr. Beast's subscriber count being monitored side-by-side.
Ronaldo is the most-followed person on social media, with nearly a billion followers between Facebook, X, and Instagram -- the latter platform of which he boasts a whopping 636 million followers.
