Cowboys stadium transform turf to grass for Copa América
AT&T Stadium is usually the home to the Dallas Cowboys, but yesterday it played host to its second of three Games throughout the 2024 Copa América tournament as the US Men’s National team beat Bolivia, 2-0. The international soccer tournament features teams from CONCACAF and CONMEBOL.
AT&T Stadium turns turf into grass
The Cowboys’ stadium was built to be able to host a diverse range of events, not just Football. The field used for the Cowboys’ and other Football Games is artificial turf. As that is not allowed for Copa América, temporary natural grass had to be installed.
A complex structure of grow lights had to be installed to allow for the growth of the grass ahead of the game between Peru and Chile on Friday, June 21 and the USMNT and Bolivia on Sunday, June 23.
The next Game that AT&T Stadium will host is the quarterfinals match between the winner from Group B and the runner-up from Group A, on Friday, July 15.
