‘Could’ve any girl’: Actress Nimra Khan claims she wasn’t kidnappers’ target
Renowned Pakistani actress Nimra Khan addressed critics of her recent near-abduction experience, urging the public to focus on the crime rather than her personally.
The incident occurred on August 11 in Karachi's DHA area, where Nimra narrowly escaped being kidnapped.
Speaking out against the trivialisation of her ordeal, the Pakistani actress emphasised that her attackers did not target her specifically but were instead intent on abducting any young woman. "It was clear from their faces that they didn't recognise me; their target was just a girl, any girl," Khan explained.
Nimra's statement also highlighted a broader issue of silence and fear among victims of harassment. "I didn't raise my voice for myself alone but for all girls who remain silent due to fear of society, parents, or social media," she stated.
She called on all women to protect themselves and speak out against injustice, and implored the media to shift its focus from her to the prevention of such crimes.
