Celtic swept Rangers away in a dominant Glasgow derby victory this afternoon.

Goals from Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi put the Game to bed at half-time, but captain Callum McGregor scored a screamer in the second half to make it 3-0.

The Hoops were scintillating this afternoon and could have had many more than just three goals.

Rangers manager Phllippe Clement has been in complete meltdown post-match. The Belgian was booked during the Game, and still hasn’t regained his composure.

Indeed, in his post-match media conference, he created a bizarre mantra surrounding statistics, claiming that his side’s number of shots on target and percentage of possession meant they were actually quite close to Celtic.

“Celtic had 14 shots and we had 13”, he said (Clyde 1 Superscoreboard on X).

“They had 4 on target and we had 4 on target but you (Rangers) lose 3-0.

“Ball possession was also equal today between the two teams.”

Anyone who watched today’s Game with their eyes will know Celtic were utterly dominant.

Clement can talk about statistics all he wants but the simple fact is his team weren’t good enough.

Rangers were nowhere near the champions this afternoon, and they don’t look like they’ll get closer any time soon.
