Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke positively about his side’s performance after the Hoops’ 3-0 victory over Rangers at Celtic Park this afternoon.

The Hoops dominated Rangers for much of the Game, delivering a statement win to start the season perfectly as they head into the first international break.

Rodgers said: (Sky Sports), “Offensively I thought we were so exciting going forward. We got three goals. The goal that was disallowed was brilliantly worked and so, so tight.

“I thought the speed in our Game, the way we attacked the space was exceptional. We maybe could have had a few more. We made it really difficult for the opposition and the crowd played their part today as well. Overall, a fantastic result and performance.

“Some of our play was absolutely outstanding. Once we got the first goal you could see everything grow and develop from there. We never want to rest on 2-0, we want to get three, four, five and it could’ve been that.

“There always has to be more. Our pressing has been really good and it was again today. There are other aspects we will analyse where will improve. It’s so early in the season and there’s a lot more growth to come.”

The Irishman has certainly got the Hoops playing some of the best football in recent memory.

Considering Matt O’Riley wasn’t part of the starting 11 after his summer departure for a club-record fee, it’s impressive that Rodgers has already achieved such a high level of performance.

However, he clearly sees room for improvement as Celtic prepare for the Champions League, a comPetition where he aims to make a significant impact, one of the reasons he rejoined the club last year.

Celtic will need to elevate their Game to advance to the next round of the Champions League, but if there is one man who can achieve this, it is certainly Brendan Rodgers, as evidenced by today’s incredible win.
