Chevy Chase, 80, to become a grandfather as he announces daughter Emily is pregnant

Weekend Update: Chevy Chase is going to be a grandfather!

The comedian, 80, announced Saturday that his youngest daughter, Emily Chase, is pregnant with her first child.

“I can’t wait to be a Grandad!” he wrote in an Instagram post along with a photo of him and the mom-to-be cradling her baby bump beside her partner, Alex Baglieri.

“Congrats to my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri,” he added with a red heart emoji.

Emily, 35, also took to social media to celebrate her expanding family by posting some headlines about the news.

Additionally, she shared a hilarious photo of herself pressing her pregnant stomach against her father’s gut with the caption, “Touching pregnant bellies.”

Several friends and fans flooded social media to congratulate Chevy on his family’s upcoming addition.

“Your Grandad Era is going to be wonderful. Lucky little baby,” one person commented on his post.

“Congratulations to your daughter and family Pop-Pop,” a second supporter wrote.

“Wonderful congratulations! Clark if a boy, Ellen if a girl?” a third jokingly asked, referring to Chevy and Beverly D’Angelo’s respective roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold in National Lampoon’s “Vacation” franchise.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum and his wife, Jayni Chase, have been married since 1982.

They share Emily and two other daughters: Cydney Chase, 41, and Caley Chase, 39.

Chevy also has a son, Bryan Perkins, 44, from a previous relationship.

The “Caddyshack” star was previously married to Suzanne Chase from 1973 to 1976 and Jacqueline Carlin from 1976 to 1980.

Emily left the Park Slope abode during the COVID-19 pandemic to move in with her parents in 2020 and has been able to work remotely ever since.

“Moving back in with my parents in my 30s was quite an experiment,” the senior manager for the National Audubon Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation of birds and their habitats, told The Post last year. “It’s been a lot of fun. We are big animal people. Between us, there are three cats, four dogs, some chickens and a couple of old horses.”

She added, “Being able to spend quality time and to just hang out and do things like watch ‘The Bachelor’ together has been great.”

It is unclear how long Emily and Baglieri have been dating, but she first posted an Instagram photo with him in September 2021.

She penned a touching 30th birthday message to him in January 2023, writing, “Happy 30th to my really, really ridiculously good looking best friend in the whole world.”

He previously shared a photo with Emily to his own Instagram in September 2021 when they took a a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine, calling her his “Maine squeeze.”
