Celtic put on a scintillating display on Saturday night, dismantling St Johnstone 6-0. This performance underscored their attacking nous and squad depth. Despite having a perfectly legitimate goal initially chalked off, the Bhoys were relentless, putting on a show in Perth.

From the opening whistle, Celtic dominated, with goals coming in various forms, showcasing the variety in their play. Whether it was powerful strikes, intricate passing moves, or well-timed headers, the Hoops delivered a masterclass in finishing.

However, the strength and depth within the squad perhaps pleased fans the most. While the first XI did the bulk of the damage, it was the impact of the substitutes that caught the eye, particularly in the build-up to Adam Idah’s well-deserved goal.

The striker, who came off the bench in the second half, was on hand to tap in after an intricate piece of play involving fellow substitutes Alex Valle and Luke McCowan.

The trio, who weren’t in the starting line-up, linked up superbly, with Valle and McCowan involved in the build-up that led to Idah’s finish. While the offside flag initially halted the celebrations, a VAR review saw the goal rightly stand.

Celtic’s Depth on Show

The move epitomised Celtic’s strength in depth at the moment, with those coming off the bench seamlessly fitting into the attacking flow and making an impact. Manager Brendan Rodgers will surely be delighted with the performance of his squad, knowing he can call upon players from the bench to maintain the team’s high standards.

With this coMMAnding victory, Celtic continue to assert their dominance in the league, but a massive challenge now awaits in Germany with Dortmund.
