Celtic kid Ben Summers continued his perfect start to life on loan at Admira Wacker by scoring the winner in their 1-0 win over Amstetten this morning.

The young midfielder is spending the season with the Hoops’ partner club alongside fellow bhoy Matthew Anderson.

He had to wait a while to make his Admira debut due to work permit issues, but he burst onto the scene a fortnight ago on his debut against SV Stripfing.

Both Anderson and Summers scored in the 2-0 away triumph and this weekend, the latter made it two goals in as many Games, bagging the winner with eight minutes to go.

Still just 20, Summers made his senior Celtic debut under previous manager Ange Postecoglou in May last year.

He has registered two senior appearances for the Hoops, and after somewhat of an underwhelming loan at Dunfermline last term, Summers is flying so far in the Austrian second tier.

Contracted at Celtic until 2026, the academy kid will look to continue with his well-founded beginnings on the continent and return to Glasgow next summer to prove a point to Brendan Rodgers.

The Parkhead gaffer is known for developing young talent, but during his second spell at the club, no academy talents have made the breakthrough.

Perhaps Summers and Anderson could change that after their current Austrian spells end.
