The season finished just under three weeks ago, but plans are already being put in place at Celtic for the forthcoming campaign.

On the pitch, the Hoops look to be somewhat active in the transfer market having been linked with several players already while off it, a few renovations to the home of the champions are in the works.

Indeed, the club have applied to Glasgow City Council to add a second safe-standing section to Celtic Park.

It will be located diagonally across from where the Green Brigade is situated, housing the Bhoys group. Should plans be given the green light, 455 regular berths will be replaced by rail seating.

Back in 2016, Celtic became the first club in the UK to introduce a standing section. Since then, nine English Premier League sides – including giants like Manchester City and Liverpool – have brought them in.

The initial safe standing area in the North Curve of Paradise, which houses over 3,000 fans,  has undoubtedly added to the atmosphere within the ground. The club will be hoping the latest development can have a similar impact.
