Bronny James Gets Honest About Terrible Preseason Performance
Bronny James’ preseason debut this week was inarguably the biggest NBA story around.
Everyone was excited to see how LeBron James’ heir to the throne was going to look in his first ‘real’ game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The answer came pretty quickly. Bronny’s highlights from the outing largely speak for themselves.
When it was all said and done, he recorded two points on 1-of-6 shooting, 1 rebound and 1 assist. He also chipped in three blocks, but finished with a +/- of -12 in the losing effort.
Afterward, Bronny gave his blunt thoughts to his terrible preseason debut.
“Of course, there are nerves,” said Bronny. “Firsts with everything. I’m just excited to go out there and learn and learn from the people playing in front of me. And if I get a chance to showcase my skill, I’m gonna do that.”

Lakers head coach J.J. Redick also gave his thoughts on Bronny after the Game.
“On the offensive end, he’s still kind of figuring out who he is, and that’s our job as a player development program just to build him up,” Redick said.
“But I like what I saw from Bronny. Truthfully, he’s so easy to coach, and he’s got a great soul and just a great energy about him. I like being around him and I’m rooting for him. He’s a good player that we are happy to have in our program.”
One Game is one Game – and you never want to read too much into it. That said, a recurring pattern exists when it comes to Bronny’s play at the professional level.
It’s never standout.
Will Bronny one day emerge as a legit NBA player? Time will tell. But is that day coming any time soon? Probably not.
