The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Milwaukee Brewers for Game two of their three-Game set this Wednesday from Dodger Stadium on SNLA. LAD took off after the sixth and didn’t look back in Game two, winning 6-2.

Brewers Preview & Projected Starter

Milwaukee moved to 65-55 after losing to Los Angeles. The Brew Crew had their win streak snapped on Tuesday, and they’ll look to do the same to the Dodgers here in Game two. The Milwaukee offense is 4.56 scoring runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .307 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.95 ERA, with a 1.31 WHIP.

Wade Miley (6-2, 2.90 ERA, 53 Ks) will take the mound for Milwaukee. The veteran southpaw pitched well against Colorado at home last week, containing them to two hits and one run in six innings en route to a Brewers win. Miley’s been stout thru two starts here in August, but he’ll face an uphill battle here in LA. Miley will also be out to avenge his toughest outing of the season, which took place against the Dodgers in Milwaukee, that saw him allow a season-worse seven runs in five innings pitched.

Brewers Player Trends & Props

Christian Yelich brings a seven-Game hit streak into this matchup,  and he leads the Brewers in hits (129) and RBI (66), with sixteen homers.

Willy Adames has recorded a hit in five of the last seven Games, and he leads Milwaukee in home runs (18), with 51 RBI.

William Contreras has produced a run in four of his last seven appearances, and he leads the team in batting (.273), with 54 runs batted in.

Carlos Santana has gone deep in back-to-back games, and he’s totaled sixteen homers and 59 RBI between time in Pittsburgh and Milwaukee this season.

Dodgers Preview & Projected Starter

Los Angeles moved to 72-46 after defeating Milwaukee. The Dodgers got another strong two-way effort to pin their ninth straight win, and they’ll look to take another one from the Brewers here. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per game, while batting .248, with a .330 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.50 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP.

Clayton Kershaw (10-4, 2.51 ERA, 109 Ks) will make the road start for Los Angeles. The longtime Dodgers lefty returned to action with a solid start against Colorado at home, holding them one run thru five innings en route to a Dodgers win. Missing a month of action may have altered Kershaw’s chance to secure another Cy Young Award, but he’s held team’s to two runs or less in each of his last six starts. Kershaw had a great start in Milwaukee back in May (7 IP, 1 ER, 8 Ks), and he’ll look to replicate that effort here.

Dodgers Player Trends & Props

Freddie Freeman is uncharacteristically hitless over his last three games, so he could be due, and he leads the Dodgers in BA (.336) hits (158), and RBI (83), with 23 homers.

Mookie Betts has multiple hits in three straight games, and he leads LAD in home runs (31), with 81 RBI.

J.D. Martinez returned the lineup in the game one win with a two-run double, and he’s posting splits of .269/25/76.

Max Muncy has recorded a hit in four 9; his last five appearances, and he’s tallied 28 homers and 76 RBI here in 2023.

Amed Rosario also has hit in four of his previous five Games, and he’s batting .266, with 51 RBI for the season.

Corey’s Free Pick

Two veteran southpaws with very different career paths will face off here, and I don’t believe this is where the magic ends up for Los Angeles. The Dodgers have set themselves apart in the NL West with strong two-way efforts each time out, and it’s very likely they receive another one with Clayton Kershaw leading the way. The ageless wonder has shown no signs of struggle in regards to containment this season, and you know the bats are going to have his back per usual here. Back Los Angeles to take a 2-0 series lead here.
