Brendan Rodgers’ SPFL Snub
Brendan Rodgers has been snubbed by the SPFL for their August Manager of the Month award.
The Celtic boss has masterminded a formidable start to the season, with his side winning five from five so far. The Hoops have yet to concede in the league and are playing some attractive stuff.
Celtic look like a well-oiled machine, and the natural tactical progressions in their Game from last term are clear to see.
Despite their storming start to the campaign, though, boss Rodgers didn’t get his hands on the August Manager of the Month award.
Indeed, the SPFL elected to give Jimmy Thelin the accolade for his flying first few weeks at Pittodrie.
The Swedish boss has come in and not yet lost a Game as Aberdeen manager.
The Dons have won ten out of ten so far this campaign if you include the league cup group stages. It has been as good a start as anyone in the Granite City could’ve hoped for.
Thelin is well worthy of the first Manager of the Month award of 2024/25, but Rodgers can feel rather unfortunate given the Bhoys’ start.
They have been flawless and will look to maintain their perfect record when Hearts come to Celtic Park this Saturday.
