Despite a commanding 3-0 win in the Glasgow Derby, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is adamant that his team has room for improvement.

The victory, which saw Celtic continue their dominance over Rangers, began with Daizen Maeda capitalizing on a meticulously crafted play from a throw-in, turning in a cross from Alistair Johnston. This was followed by Kyogo Furuhashi adding to his impressive derby record with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box after an earlier goal was disallowed for offside.

The match saw Celtic create numerous opportunities, with Kyogo notably missing a chance to widen the lead, hitting the side netting. Hatate also watched on as his shot went over the bar from close range.

The Hoops really should have went into the break five or six to the good, and came out in the second half to add to that.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor sealed the deal with a striking finish, consolidating Celtic’s position five points clear of their rivals after just four Games.

However, Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, stressed the need for even sharper finishing. He said that he’s seen improvements, but work is still needed.

He said: “When I first came in, I said to the team that the team identity over the next three years, will develop into a team with power, speed, creativity and unpredictability.

“And that’s what I’m starting to see now within the team, but there are still elements that we can be better in.

“For example, the ruthlessness that we can take more of the opportunities because we’re creating really good opportunities. Can we have that to take those opportunities and make the scoreline even greater?”

In Europe, it’s going to be crucial that Celtic take their opportunities because they’re not going to be gifted many.
