Brendan Rodgers Explains “Good Problem” Ahead of Derby Showdown
Brendan Rodgers is faced with a welcome dilemma on Saturday in the Scottish Cup semi-final—choosing between two in-form strikers, Adam Idah and Kyogo Furuhashi, for the starting lineup.

Both players have been instrumental in Celtic’s successful campaign, offering Rodgers high-quality options up front.
Adam Idah, a January loan signing, has quickly proven his worth by contributing significantly to Celtic’s league victory with some crucial goals. His performance against Kilmarnock, where he troubled the defence consistently, and a goal at Ibrox against Rangers this season, have led some to believe that he could be the best option for this Game.
Kyogo, on the other hand, is concluding his third season with Celtic and has consistently delivered, especially in high-stakes matches. His record includes two spectacular goals against Rangers this season, showing his knack for rising to the occasion.
When asked about the selection dileMMA between Idah and Furuhashi, Rodgers expressed a positive outlook, seeing it not as a problem but as a strategic advantage. “Exactly that, a good problem. I wanted two players who have top-end qualities that I can use in different types of Games,” Rodgers explained on Celtic TV.
“Adam has been a real catalyst for us since he has come in, there is no question about it. He has elevated the team as much as he has elevated Kyogo’s Game. He now has someone there who is a big talent who is only going to get better. Just being able to put him in to start or bring him in and give Kyogo a rest is great to have.
“I just know that whichever one I play they are ready.”
This good headache provides Rodgers with multiple tactical approaches for the final against Rangers. The decision on who starts could hinge on match strategy, opponent analysis, and recent form, making the final team sheet a highly anticipated reveal.
Whether Idah or Furuhashi leads the line, Celtic’s attack will be a key factor in their quest to secure a domestic double.
