Having played some of the most date-worthy characters in K-dramas, Song Kang’s personal life has been equally interesting given that he has been linked to some of the most famous stars. He is one of the most handsome leading men in the South Korean industry and has kept his personal life under wraps, with his dating History being a series of unsubstantiated claims. Here’s a look at all the rumoured relationships of Song Kang.

Currently, in the headlines for the highly-anticipated third season of the apocalyptic horror drama Sweet Home, Song Kang has quite an exciting filmography to his name. Over the course of his career, he’s essayed the most diverse roles — from a charming red flag of an art student to a soft-hearted fantasy creature with green-flag energy. Combine this with his good looks and impeccable screen presence and it’s no surprise that he’s the stuff of daydreams for many.

And while he upholds quite a confident reputation in public, in past interviews he confessed to being quite shy and unable to express his feelings. “Rather than their appearance, I look at their individual charms. But I do like people who have warm images or auras,” he was quoted saying by Soompi. The actor further added that he did believe in love at first sight. And although many Korean celebrities have begun declaring their relationships publicly recently — Song Kang has remained tight-lipped. Here’s a look at a few rumours that surrounded him.

A look at Hallyu heartthrob Song Kang’s rumoured relationships

2024: Kim Yoo-jung

Most recently, the success of the fantasy-romance drama My Demon — which told the tale of an immortal demon whose powers are transferred to an heiress — saw Song Kang being linked to his co-star Kim Yoo-jung. Besides their palpable on-screen chemistry — the two reportedly grew closer on set, behind-the-scenes videos depicting easy banter and a lot of care and consideration between them. However, speculations about their relationship were rife when pictures of a couple exiting a car in matching outfits were circulated on social media with their names. However, according to a News18 report, this was quickly refuted — with those pictured being Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki as well as Ryu Jun-yeol and Girl’s Day Hyeri.

2022: Han So-hee

Hit modern-day romance Nevertheless saw Song Kang step into the shoes of a playboy who thinks of dating as a chore but enjoys flirting. He swept the simultaneously cynical and hopeful romantic lead character, played by Han So-hee, off her feet. In the behind-the-scenes footage, the chemistry remained as electric as ever — with the actor sharing easy conversations with his co-star. Soompi quoted him saying, “Han So-hee is someone who has an easygoing and refreshing personality. She’s very good at what she does. She’s also very flexible. No matter what I do, she goes along with it, so it’s comfortable to film with her.”

Later, a picture circulated on social media with both stars appearing to be on a date. Although both individuals were masked, the use of relevant hashtags led to rumours about the two. However, it was later clarified by several media sites that the photo was from a get-together for the show My Name and the person next to the actress is her co-star Moon Sang-min.

2018: BLACKPINK’s Jennie

Appearance on the variety show Village Survival: The Eight brought viewers plenty of Song Kang and Jennie moments, sparking rumours of dating. The appearance of the two celebrities together in fun and rather enjoyable moments had fans collectively calling for more joint projects. And while their dynamic remained dreamy throughout the show, there was no confirmation of dating of any kind.
