Best Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys touchdown scorer bets: DeVonta Smith makes an impact
This week’s edition of Sunday Night Football takes us to Dallas for a battle between a couple of offenses that should put up plenty of points in the NFC East. This is one of the most important games of the season as it relates to seeding in the NFC and the conference as a whole. Can the Cowboys stay hot and pick up another win? Or can Jalen Hurts and company bounce back from last season’s loss to pick up the biggest win of their season?
I don’t have a prediction on the side for this matchup, but I do have a couple of touchdown scorer bets for the proceedings. Here are my touchdown scorer best bets for Sunday’s matchup.
Don’t miss our Eagles vs Cowboys predictions
Philadelphia Eagles best touchdown scorer bet: DeVonta Smith (+180)
Given his recent production, the value on Smith is too good to pass up in this matchup. This is a bet that I’ve given out in weeks’ past and I’m going back to the well with the Eagles most productive receiver in the red zone, especially against the Cowboys weaker pass defense. Dallas has an elite pass rush with plenty of talent and depth across the board, but the Cowboys are only the 19th ranked defense against the pass compared to ranking 7th against the run (NFL.com). Smith has scored 6 touchdowns to this point in the season, with 4 of those scores having come in the last 5 Games. The former Alabama wide receiver has become Jalen Hurts’ security blanket in recent weeks and he should be able to keep it going in what should be a high-scoring affair on Sunday.
Dallas Cowboys best touchdown scorer bet: Brandin Cooks (+175)
The Cowboys passing game is elite, there’s no doubt about it. Dak Prescott is in the midst of the best season of his career and I’m expecting another strong effort from the Dallas quarterback against a vulnerable Philadelphia defense at home on Sunday. That’s where Brandin Cooks comes in. The veteran wideout has come on strong over the past couple of weeks, hauling in 20 receptions and 3 touchdowns over Dallas’ last 4 games. The Eagles will likely be devoting a ton of attention to CeeDee Lamb (as they should), which leaves the secondary vulnerable against the #2 wide receiver. We just saw Brandon Aiyuk catch a touchdown and make a massive impact in last week’s game for the 49ers, and I’d expect Cooks to catch at least one deep pass and/or make a crucial catch in the red zone. At +175, this number is simply too good to pass up.
