Best MLB Player Prop Picks Today 4/29: Nick Lodolo punches out Padres | Pickswise
We have 24 teams in action on a packed Monday slate, and I have my best MLB player prop bets ready to go. You can find out our MLB picks for all of today’s huge matchups, but for now, let’s dive into our best MLB player prop bets for Monday, April 29.
Brandon Marsh (PHI) Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-125)
Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.
The Philadelphia Phillies offense has been on fire. We faded Joe Musgrove against the Phillies on Friday night and cashed in with ease on his earned runs prop. We’re finding new ways to back this offense as they’ll battle the Los Angeles Angels and RHP Griffin Canning — whose earned run prop is set at 3.5. The books figure Canning is in for a rough start.
Marsh has been stellar for the Phillies in the last calendar year. He gives the offense life after Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm do their duties. He’s hitting .323 against RHP while ranking in the 96th and 99th percentile in average exit velocity and hard-hit percentage. Marsh returns to Anaheim for the first time since being traded for catcher Logan O’Hoppe — a trade that has worked out nicely for both squads. Let’s hope there’s some extra juice flowing and Marsh can cash in on this prop for the 14th time in 27 Games this season.

Nick Lodolo (CIN) Over 16.5 outs (-115)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Nick Lodolo hasn’t missed a beat since missing most of his 2023 campaign with a leg injury. He’s pitched in 3 Games this season, topping at 98 pitches on his last start and allowing just 4 earned runs across 17 innings. Lodolo will face off against the Padres tonight in San Diego, who have been poor against LHP this year. They rank in the league’s bottom half in batting average and on-base percentage against southpaws.
Lodolo lives by striking out batters. He ranks in the 79th percentile in K%, 88th in chase%, and 89th in whiff%. Backing his strikeouts at 5.5 is one I’ll also sprinkle on, as FanDuel is the only book to offer it at plus-money odds. But his outs prop is more enticing to me, as he has the green light to go deep into his pitch count. The Padres were just stunned by LHP Ranger Suarez. Suarez is putting together a CY Young start to his 2024 campaign. Unlike Suarez, Lodolo relies on his strikeouts. Not only do I have Lodolo whiffing Padres batters tonight, but I have him eclipsing 6 innings.
