Luis Gil is putting up sensational numbers for the MLB-leading New York Yankees. Currently in the top 10 in AL CY Young betting odds, Gil ranks in the 90th and 97th percentile in xERA and xBA. The 26-year-old has shown ace potential in the first half of the season.

We’re taking our money to Luis Gil Under 4.5 hits allowed on Friday Night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox are coming off a series win against the Phillies, where they scored nine runs last night. The offense is hot at the moment, but so is Gil. He’s stayed under this line in 10 of 13 games this season, including all but one start on the road. We’ll see how the weather plays out – it is projected for rain, but there is no timetable as of publishing.

Hunter Brown (HOU) Over 16.5 outs (-115)

Even after an off day for the Houston Astros yesterday, we find ourselves backing Hunter Brown to go deep into the ball Game tonight against the Detroit Tigers. Brown has turned heads with his play as of late. After a horrid start to the season, Brown has lowered his ERA to 5.58 – his lowest of the season. A 2-hit outing across six innings surely helped in his last outing against the Los Angeles Angels.

We’re picking on the Tigers tonight, as they’ve registered a bottom 10 batting average against RHP in June, while five of nine RHP have eclipsed at least 5.2 innings pitched. Brown dealt against this same Tigers lineup over a month ago. He went five innings across 85 pitches and allowed just one run. His “hits allowed” and “earned run” props insinuate that the books expect Brown to continue his momentum.
