The Colorado Rockies and the Houston Astros meet Tuesday in MLB action from Minute Maid Park. Here’s a Houston Astros vs Colorado Rockies prediction. This will be the first installment in a quick two-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.
Colorado Rockies Betting Preview
The Rockies took on the Washington Nationals over the weekend. Colorado lost the opener of that set 11-5, then came back with an 8-7 win in the Saturday Game. On Sunday in the rubber match the Nationals took another one-run loss to drop the series, this time 2-1. The Rockies did have a 1-0 ninth-inning lead in that one, though.
In the Tuesday matchup with Houston, Colorado will send out Austin Gomber in the starting role. This year Gomber is 1-4 with a 4.36 ERA in 14 starts. Over his career Gomber is 31-32 with a 4.83 ERA in 140 Games (96 starts).
Houston Astros Betting Preview
Over on the Houston side, they played the Baltimore Orioles in their last series and did quite well. Houston took wins 14-11, 5-1 and 8-1 in that trio for a sweep. In the Sunday finale the Astros got a solo homer and two runs from 2B Jose Altuve. Starter Framber Valdez finished with 7.0 innings and one earned.
Hunter Brown will take the mound for the Astros on Tuesday. This year Brown is 4-5 with a 4.72 ERA in 15 games (14 starts). Brown is 17-18 with a 4.64 ERA in his career over 53 games (45 starts) total.

Houston Astros vs Colorado Rockies Prediction
I’ll stay with Houston but the line’s too thick to mess with. The Astros should get a good start from Brown. In his last three starts Brown is 3-0 with just one earned run in 19.0 innings total. As for Gomber, he’s had some difficulties over his last three with 16 earned runs in 14.2 innings for an 0-1 record.
Houston took care of a good Orioles team over the weekend, scoring 27 runs over three Games. The opposition scoring got out of hand in the opener (11 runs allowed) but the Astros held Baltimore to just two runs the rest of the way. I like Houston to keep it up Tuesday but you wouldn’t be crazy for taking the Rockies on a value play.
