I’m thrilled to be contributing to MLB player props with Pickswise for the third season in a row. We’ve started the year out 2-0, as we swept the board on Friday night. Below are my favorite MLB player prop bets, while you can also check out our MLB picks for today’s action starting at 2:10 E.T. Be mindful of weather impacting a ton of these Games.

Xander Bogaerts (SDP) Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

It’s been a great start to the season for Xander Bogaerts. Even in the Korea series against the Dodgers, Bogaerts put together multi-hit games. Over the weekend, he answered that with two more multi-hit games against the San Francisco Giants. On Monday, the San Diego Padres will welcome veteran pitcher Kyle Gibson, who allowed five home runs in Spring Training, and the St. Louis Cardinals to PetCo Park.

Bogaerts getting bumped up to the 1-hole this season gives this player prop market a boost – especially against a RHP like Kyle Gibson. All eight of Bogaert’s hits against right-handed pitching this season have been singles. That’s led to him scoring five runs to start the year. A quick single and a Manny Machado home run with Bogaerts on base will do that trick. If only it were that easy.
Nonetheless, Bogaerts has matched up against Gibson on 24 occasions throughout their careers. He’s hitting .261 with three extra-base hits. Let’s back him to continue his hot start to the 2024 season.

Gunnar Henderson (BAL) Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-130)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The 2023 AL ROY has big aspirations in 2024. Possibly a batting title. Perhaps leading the Baltimore Orioles to a playoff series win. My aspiration for Gunnar Henderson on Monday is to cash our player prop bet on him. We’re backing the lefty to eclipse 1.5 hits + runs + RBI for the third time in four games this year. He had his chances yesterday to extend his streak, but he walked twice, and his teammates failed to bring him in. Let’s turn to Monday when Henderson faces RHP Michael Wacha.

Henderson is one of the few Orioles bats not to have success against Wacha. But that’s not stopping me from backing him. It’s Wacha’s first start of the year, so we are still determining how long he’ll last or how many at-bats Henderson will match up with him against. But with the success hitters behind Henderson, like Adley Rutschman, Ryan Mountcastle, and Anthony Santander, have had against Wacha, I’m comfortable backing him. Henderson went 3/4 against RHP on Saturday, including a lead-off home run, a single, and a triple. We’ll take more of that, please.
