In what might be the biggest Game on the Week 10 NFL slate — especially from a playoff picture perspective — the Detroit Lions will Travel to Houston for a date with the Texans in a pivotal primetime matchup for both teams on Sunday Night Football. The Lions are in pursuit of the top seed in the NFC, while the Texans are in looking to keep their lead in the AFC South after losing to the Jets last week. The handicap on this Game seems to be a solid spot to buy the Texans given the situation, but that’s not what I’ll be focusing on in this piece.

Be sure to also check out our Lions vs Texans predictions, but now let’s take a look at my favorite anytime touchdown scorer picks for this primetime game, which includes a wide receiver and tight end.

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, DET (-125 at FanDuel)

The Lions two-headed monster at running back is arguably the best in the entire league, and they’ve both rushed to great success this season. However, it’s Gibbs who I want to target in this matchup, as he has the quickness and agility to get past this Houston front four and put the game on his terms offensively. To this point in the season, the young running back out of Alabama is averaging well over 6 yards per carry, to go along with 656 yards and 7 touchdowns. Gibbs has also gone over 100 yards in 2 of his last 3 contests while registering 60+ rushing yards and multiple a touchdown in each of the last 7 games. Look for that momentum to continue as the Lions featured running back for Sunday’s contest against a Texas team that is a bottom 10 defense against the run through the first 9 weeks.

Joe Mixon, RB, HOU (-150 at DraftKings)

While I’m going with another touchdown scorer best bet with worse than +100 odds, I d0 think this is the rare opportunity where both Jahmyr Gibbs and Joe Mixon show some value to find the end zone. In the case of Mixon, it should be a pretty easy selling point to back the veteran running back, especially with all of the injuries that have hit this Texans team over the past 4-6 weeks. Mixon has shined in his first year in Houston, hitting the 100-yard rushing mark in 5 of his 6 Games this season, while also racking up 7 total touchdowns (6 of them rushing) in just 6 Games played on the season. The Lions defense is most likely to be keyed in on Nico Collins and Tank Dell on the outside, so there should be opportunities for Mixon to find paydirt once his team reaches the red zone on Sunday.
