Begins ≠ Youth: Release date, cast & plot of the BTS K-drama

In 2019, Big Hit Entertainment’s co-CEO, Bang Si-hyuk, announced that a drama series based on the debut days of BTS was in the early stages of production. The BTS K-drama show was originally titled Blue Sky but was later changed to Begins ≠ Youth.

When is BTS’ show Begins ≠ Youth released?

The first four episodes of the show were dropped on 30 April 2024. The new set of episodes is scheduled for a release every Tuesday at 16:00 KST. Episodes 5-8 will drop on 7 May 2024, while the last four episodes of the BTS K-drama show, Begins ≠ Youth, will release on 14 May 2024. Each episode is 60-70 minutes long. The show is available to stream on the paid platform, Xclusive.

The show features Seo Ji-hoon as Kim Hwan (the character of Jin), Seo Young-joo as Kim Do-geon (the character of RM), Jeon Jin-seo as Jeon Je-ha (the character of Jungkook), Jung Woo-jin as Kim Joo-an (the character of Kim Taehyung), Noh Jong-hyun as Min Ce-in (the character of Suga), Kim Yoon-woo as Park Ha-ru (the character of Jimin) and Ahn Ji-ho as Jeong Ho-su (the character of J-hope).

Begins ≠ Youth also stars Jung Sung-il as Kim Chang-jun, Kim Nam-hee as Song Jun-ho, Nam Myeong-ryeol as Koo Hyun-bok, Woo Hee-jin as Hwang Seo-yun, Sung Ji-ru as a disciplinarian, Kim Young-woong as Kim Seong-hun, Lee Hang-na as Shim Seon-mi, Yoo Yeo-woon as Choi Ji-han and Lee Si-hoo. The BTS K-drama is helmed by Kim Jae-hong and screenwriters Kim Soo-jin and Choi Woo-joo.

What is the show about?

The BTS K-drama show Begins ≠ Youth is based on the fictitious tale of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, the third extended play by BTS. The plot revolves around Kim Hwan, who meets six other boys like him. Together the seven young teenagers learn about friendships and struggles and transform into adults who learn to overcome their greatest difficulties together.

More about the Save Me webtoon

The webtoon, produced by Big Hit Entertainment and Naver Webtoon, got its title from the namesake of BTS’s 2016 song Save Me. The central characters are the alter egos of the band members. The story follows Kim Seok-jin, a young boy who is trapped in a time loop. While he repeatedly relives his life starting from 11 April, he soon realises that he can only get out of the loop by saving his six best friends from their destined miseries.
