Barcelona's best and worst players in huge victory over Napoli

Barcelona have not handled pressure particularly well this season, but they undoubtedly rose to the occasion on Tuesday evening as they roared to a 3-1 win over Napoli.

Fermin Lopez, Joao Cancelo and Robert Lewandowski were all on target for Xavi's side, who were good value for their victory across both legs and now await their next obstacle in Friday's draw for the Champions League quarter-final.

Here's how the players fared in 90min's player ratings.

Barcelona's best player vs Napoli

Jules Kounde - 8/10

Barcelona were great in attack here but it was in defence where they excelled most. Jules Kounde, starting out in the right-back position he is said to dislike, put on an absolute clinic as he kept Khvicha Kvaratskhelia out of the Game.

Kounde has been quietly improving week after week recently but really stood up when his side needed him most here. A really impressive performance.

Honourable mention

Pau Cubarsi - 8/10

Ahead of the game, it was debated whether Xavi should keep his faith in young Pau Cubarsi or select a more-experienced option for such a big occasion. The boss took the gamble and it undoubtedly paid off.

While Kounde was dealing with Kvaratskhelia, it was Cubarsi who was tasked with subduing Victor Osimhen. The teenager did an excellent job, but perhaps stood out most for his ability with the ball at his feet. An outrageous long ball for Fermin Lopez early on really set the tone.

Barcelona's worst player vs Napoli

Ronald Araujo - 6/10

Look, Ronald Araujo was fine. He was absolutely fine. However, is that what you want from the man who was staking a claim to be Europe's best centre-back last season?

Araujo's levels have dropped this season, and while he didn't really get anything wrong from Napoli, he noticeably faded into the background alongside the likes of Kounde and Cubarsi.

Dishonourable mention

Robert Lewandowski - 6/10

Robert Lewandowski netted Barcelona's third goal on the evening late on, but it was pretty much the only move he was actually involved in.

Lewandowski's involvement in Barcelona's build-up has been under scrutiny for a while now. Xavi's side focused their efforts on attacking down the wings and all their cut-backs ended up finding midfielders, rather than Lewandowski, who was pretty quiet before wheeling away in celebration.
