The international break may be coming for players in top leagues but that doesn't mean that there weren't Americans to watch around the English Football League and beyond in a subdued week. Aidan Morris is settling in well for Middlesbrough, Donovan Pines scored yet again and Ethan Horvath keeps letting in goals for Cardiff City.

Check out how Americans around the world have done this weekend:

Stock up: Aidan Morris

We're going to pretend that Aidan Morris got his first goal for Middlesbrough against Cardiff City even though it ended up being an own goal that he forced. Given Morris' role as a midfielder, it may take a while for him to get an actual goal for Boro but it hasn't taken him long to settle into things in Europe. Morris is someone who has always stepped up when presented with a challenge but he has quickly become one of the first names on Michael Carrick's team sheet. He only misplaced two passes against Cardiff while also making two tackles in a strong all-around performance. Continuing with this growth, there's only a matter of time until Morris makes the next step into the USMNT midfield picture.

Stock down: Ethan Horvath

While Ethan Horvath's performances have improved from a horrendous start to the season, he has still allowed the most goals in the Championship with Cardiff City, and losing 2-0 to Middlesbrough is another blow to the Bluebirds. Now at the bottom of the Championship, this isn't what Horvath needed in a time when the number one keeper role for the United States men's national team is wide open. Matt Turner moving to Crystal Palace means that Horvath will be the USA pool's highest-tier European league start at the moment but these performances aren't showing that he deserves the number-one role. With players like Gaga Slonina impressing, a slim window for Horvath may be quickly closing before he even gets a chance to start between the sticks.

Stock up: Donovan Pines

Barnsley are at it again and Donovan Pines is right in the thick of the action scoring his second goal in all comPetitions this season. While Donovan Pines may not break into the USMNT center back picture, it's quite impressive how well he can be utilized on set plays. Barnsley have always used these opportunities well and if Pines can stay Healthy in the heart of the defense shielding Slonina, the Tykes have a good shot at promotion.

Notable performances outside of the EFL

Christian Pulisic: Grabbing an assist for Milan, Pulisic again shined while his team failed to pick up a victory. Scoring a goal and assisting one more in Serie A play, there isn't much more that Pulisic can do to push Milan forward as yet again, he's shining despite a less-than-ideal club situation. With Champions League soccer looming,  there isn't much time for Paulo Fonseca to work things out.
