The producer behind Ferrari, Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, and the upcoming Maserati movie is also making a movie about Bugatti.

The car biopics just keep coming. After the news that Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Italian actor Michele Morrone have joined the cast for the upcoming film about the founding of Maserati, a new movie about another automobile company has been confirmed to be in the works. Andrea Iervolino, the producer behind the car biopics of late, is starting up production on a movie about the founding of the French car manufacturer Bugatti.

Deadline reported that Iervolino was setting up for a Bugatti biopic last week. The film will reportedly revolve around the life of founder Ettore Bugatti, the French automobile designer who was born in Italy and also designed aeroplane engines. Even in its early years back in the 1910s, Bugatti’s cars became renowned for their artistic design due to Ettore’s father being a furniture and jewellery designer. Tragedy would strike in the family’s life though when Jean Bugatti, Etorre’s son, died while testing one of their cars.

Iervolino is in the process of talking to writers and directors. He told Deadline, “Bugatti will be a film that honours the passion and innovation that have defined one of the most iconic car manufacturers of all time.”

Because the film is in the very early stages of development, there are no details as to when it will be released or who will be in it. However, Iervolino did say that the movie will be in English and will feature a cast comprised of American and international actors. He also hopes to get support from the Bugatti family.

For now, Iervolino’s production company, aptly named The Andrea Iervolino Company, is gearing up to start filming the Maserati biopic next month in Italy. The film is slated to be released sometime next year.
