A former teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the instant impact he had at Juventus which shocked younger players.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s former teaMMAte at Juventus has revealed the instant impact he had at the Serie A club when he arrived.
Ronaldo, 39, is currently preparing for Euro 2024 with his Portugal teaMMAtes as he looks to regain the trophy his country secured back in 2016.
The former Manchester United star currently plays in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr – where he broke the goalscoring record in a single season during the last campaign with 35.
Prior to his move to the Middle East, Ronaldo endured a turbulent second spell at Man United, who signed him from Juventus for a fee in the region of £14.3million.
A bargain price for a player who had scored 81 goals across 98 appearances for the club, During his time in Turin, he also secured two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana and one Coppa Italia. Which comes as no surprise given the strict standards he held his teaMMAtes to.
Speaking to FIVE, Sami Khedira, who played with Ronaldo at Juve and Real Madrid, opened up on the instant impact he had in Italy.
“Cristiano, when he came to Juventus, of course he had his ego,” he said.
“Federico Chiesa was like a fantastic young player. He had his phone in his hand and was walking into the gym – Cristiano looked at him like ‘what are you doing and where are you going?’.
📱 When Cristiano Ronaldo was unhappy with Chiesa’s bringing his mobile phone in Juventus’ gym! Always helping the younger generation!
“Going to the gym with your phone – listen you don’t need your phone, go in the gym and work.
“Don’t do Instagram and don’t do any TikTok. Focus on your work.
“The young players were like, wow. But even the quality of training when he came to Juventus, it was like a different level.
“Every single shot on target was like I needed to score. Let’s not play about money but play about a bottle of wine or a dinner. He was a comPetitive guy but also really friendly, nice and humble. In my point of view.”
