The DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai concludes this week at the DP World Tour Championship at the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, with Rory McIlroy all but certain to finish top of the rankings for the sixth time in his career and a third year in succession.

Who is playing in the 2024 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai?

McIlroy, the biggest name in the field for the event, can only be caught at the top of the rankings by one man, South Africa’s Thriston Lawrence, who notably finished fourth at this year’s British Open at Royal Troon.

The tournament features the tour’s top 50 ranked players in 2024, which also includes European Ryder Cup stars Tyrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, Thorbjorn Olesen, Shane Lowry and Justin Rose.

Billy Horschel is one of only two Americans teeing it up, although Adam Scott and Joaquín Niemann are other participants who are familiar faces to PGA Tour fans.

World no. 5 Ludwig Aberg and former no. 1 Jon Rahm had qualified to play but won’t ultimately be involved, with the Swede recovering from knee surgery and the Spaniard enjoying family life after the birth of his third child.

DP World Tour Championship prize money: how much does the winner get?

The above stars and others will be looking to finish the 2024 season on a high and clinch the $3 million first prize, which is part of a $10 million total purse, making the DP World Tour Championship the most lucrative event of the year.

As the final event of the season, this week’s championship will also determine the top 10 on the 2024 Race to Dubai, who will share a $6 million bonus.

$2 million of that will go the winner, which will almost certainly be McIlroy, with the second-placed finisher taking home $1 million and the man in 10th $150,000.

How to watch the 2024 DP World Tour Championship

The 2024 DP World Tour Championship takes place between Thursday, November 14 and Sunday, November 17.

However, as Dubai is nine hours ahead of the east coast of the United States and 12 hours head of the west, the action will begin in the evening of Wednesday, November 13 for some stateside viewers, who will have to stay up late/get up early to watch.

If you’re in the United States, you’ll be able to follow all four days of the tournament on the Golf Channel.
